Thanks for the comment on A Hobbit's March.
I tried to cover up the phonelines with the sun spot I was
getting in my shot. I wanted her down in the opposite corner,
but I was lucky to get that get little pose. And I was lucky to
have such an excellent day for taking pictures.

You a 43 or 46 or someshit or did you just buy a 20D? Don't be afraid to get crazy with some shit or seek help on this site...posting here has dramatically improved my shooting....

no, i'm comm, its just by chance i have a 20D...well by chance and $3000.00 :-)
:iconslimmons:
The 20D is the shit - I had a 10D issued to me in Afghanistan and it took a serious beating and always got me some fucking awesome photos....so I figured I'd buy myself a 20D when I got back, which I did...worth every fuckin penny, if you ask me....those Canon EF large lenses are a bitch to buy though...so fucking expensive, and yet so necessary to getting the most out of the camera body....despite needing those lenses, I think it may be the perfect "professional starter" camera on the market......

i always was jealous of those who were issued the "L series" lenses....of course they had to go and cammie them up....but yeah $4000.00 and $2000.00 and such are a little out of my price range for a lens....i use my 17-85 EF-S lens....$600.00 good enough for me....for now.....($6000.00 in debt later) I always wanted the 10D, and I almost had a tear in my eye when my 20D came in along with my 580 EX flash and the battery grip....that's the thing that done me in.....the battery grip, made it look more like the Mark II series.
:iconslimmons:
Well -the battery grip fits the 10D and 20D...but it is necessary to look totally bad-ass..and for me it was great on those week-long patrols. How is the 580? I have a 550 and I love it - but I HAD to get the extension cable for it (like, 50 bucks on Amazon.com) so I could get it off the shoe and do some cool bounce-flash stuff....which I have far from mastered....
